Then look no further.This is for a Permanent Part Time appointment at 64 hours (0.8 FTE) per fortnight.What is our Staff Development Nurse role?The position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), practises as a Staff Development Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart; provides ongoing assessment of the knowledge and skills of nursing staff in designated ward/unit; plans and implements education and training programs and participation in the planning and implementation of hospital wide Staff Development programs; provides support for new staff, including orientation, coaching and preceptorship; provides clinical knowledge and expertise within the clinical areas. upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation and nursing values of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity.The Comprehensive Cancer Centre encompasses Radiation oncology , Medical oncology and Haematology as well as Allied health and Palliative care outpatients. Over 400 patients are seen daily in various clinics as well as for treatments. Medical oncology day ward delivers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments as well as a variety of clinical trials , patients attend with a range of malignant cancers including melanomas and Gynaecological cancers .Haematology day ward delivers all types of treatment and supportive care for blood cancers as well as undertaking an apheresis service. Radiation oncology has 5 linear accelerators as well as a cyberknife machine and sees patients from all over the state as well as treating paediatric patients , nurses are a vital component of the department and manage acute side effects as well as delivering education.You will be a driven and innovative individual whose actions, interactions and partnerships achieve high quality patient care.
