This role is based on the Respiratory wards at Glenfield Hospital. The role also includes weekend and bank holiday working across the other specialties on site including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and vascular.This post requires a high level of personal responsibility and therefore we are looking for a person with a mature outlook, good communication skills, organisational skills and an ability to use their initiative.The post holder will need to be motivated, organised and able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. They will need to have experience of working with a variety of different people.You will be expected, when competent, to hold your own caseload of patients, prioritising, completing assessments and devising treatment plans for Physiotherapy interventions. You will work alongside qualified Physiotherapists to carry out this treatment and discharge plan.Interviews will be undertaken face to face only.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate needs to be able to work well alone and also as part of Team. They need to have good communication skills both verbally and non-verbally and have an understanding of Occupational Therapists and / or Physiotherapists roles. They need to be comfortable performing personal care tasks for patients.The successful candidate will participate in local training to achieve all pertinent support worker competencies within the first 6 months of employment into this role.
