Job Reference: 44803Senior Residential ChildcareStarting full time salary: £32,000.Hours of work: 24.5 hours per shift start time 7am – 7:30am the next day with 8-hour sleep inRota pattern/Shift availability: Rota pattern generally consists of 1 shift on, followed by 2 shifts off basis. We operate a 24/7 residential home, so we require candidates to be available Monday – Sunday, including bank holidaysBenefits:

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3/4 in Children’s residential care (desirable – Although training can be provided)
- Will to work towards NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Desirable)
Experience:
- Experience with children
- Driving Licence (desirable)
Shift availability:
- Day shift
- Overnight shift
The role of a senior support worker will involve:
- Contributing to the young persons care plans and risk assessments, and reviews.
- Forming positive, effective relationships with young people , their families and external agencies.
- Ensuring the home is kept in a clean and tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.
- Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and assisting in the implementation of individual educational programs.
- Providing support to the House Manager of the home whilst on shift and preforming senior duties as directed.
- Being a fire marshal and first aider – designated person to evacuate the building in case of emergency and administer first aid
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
You will be responsible for the direct care of children living in the home, offer high levels of engagement for and with children and be ambitious in achieving positive outcomes for them.Our client currently provides residential care for looked after children in Lichfield, Staffordshire. They adopt a child centred approach and actively promote children’s rights. We deliver our services in safe, personalised, small group care which promotes children’s welfare.The Home accommodates children between 9 and up to 17 years of age. Due to the nature of this post the Department for Education National Minimum Standards state that the employees must be 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 22 years of age or older.You will have the opportunity to make a huge difference within a child’s life. Helping them to overcome any difficulties or disadvantages they have had to face whilst helping them to build resilience and skills for their future. You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.About You…..
