Join the team at the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network in the Speech Pathology Department of the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care.The focus of Speech Pathology services at SALHN is to care for hospital patients who have communication or swallowing difficulties.About the Role:Reporting to the director of Speech Pathology, this role is responsible for improving care and outcomes for patients, contribute to efficient, effective, evidence based, multi-disciplinary patient management.Duties for the role will include:Supervising and mentoring of less experienced staff and students and undertake teaching activities within an interdisciplinary model of student learning and supervise Speech Pathology students,Facilitate positive outcomes for patients by implementing appropriate treatment programs, evaluating the effectiveness of treatment, adjusting or discontinuing treatment as appropriate, documenting all aspects of patient management,Participate in the development and implementation of research projects within the department as directed and as the caseload allowsAbout you:
- An Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia,
- Extensive experience working with adult patients with swallowing and communication disorders resulting from medical, surgical or neurological condition,
- Experience in the training and supervision of staff or students,
- Experience in collecting, analysing and interpreting data, and making appropriate recommendations and high level professional skills relevant to speech pathology practice.
