- Exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Research Support Officer for the School of Medical Sciences
- Base Salary from $108,557 (pro rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunityThe School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. With over 100 years of excellence in education, we are proud to be training the next generation of medical scientists who will be leading members of the medical research community with an innovative integrated curriculum. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.Based at the Westmead Children’s Hospital, the Senior Research Support Officer supports the formulation and execution of research initiatives. They direct the integration of advanced data management tools. They contribute to the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of research documentation and contribute to the grant acquisition process. The purpose of the position is to assist big data analysis and design and coordination of the collection, storage, management and distribution of research data for the Brain Autoimmunity Group (BAI).Your key responsibilities will be to:
- guide research direction and priorities, ensuring projects align with broader university goals
- evaluate and optimize grant management processes, ensuring maximum funding opportunities and successful grant acquisitions
- direct the design and implementation of advanced data management systems, ensuring data-driven insights and research excellence
- navigate external partnerships, fostering collaborations that elevate research stature and impact
- lead research documentation and publication approach, ensuring impactful dissemination of research findings
- undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you
- experience in coordinating and/or managing grant application process
- experience working in a research-intensive environment
- demonstrated understanding of confidentiality of clinical data and the need for accuracy in recording and reporting data
- experience in data management and maintenance
- proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- experience in the technical design, implementation, maintenance and querying of database management system. ERDs, MySQL, PotsgreSQL
- experience in relational database design and familiarity with clinical and/or biobanking data management system (ie Redcap) for multiple data type
- excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiations skills and demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with operational matters
- understanding of regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the conduct of clinical research.
