About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to play a key role in transforming how climate risk is understood and addressed in the Murray Darling Basin. As part of a collaborative research team, you’ll work on innovative solutions that connect climate science with the practical needs of stakeholders. With the support of a leading research group, this role offers the chance to drive meaningful change in water security, supported by the OneBasin CRC..Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct applied research and analysis, focusing on climate adaptation, environmental systems modelling, and participatory planning.
- Collaborate with program partners and team members to advance research outcomes and contribute to project management.
- Assist in preparing manuscripts for publication and present research findings at relevant forums.
- Actively engage in outreach activities and foster external partnerships to strengthen collaborative efforts.
Who We Are Looking For We are seeking motivated individuals who thrive in a collaborative research environment and are driven by the opportunity to address real-world climate adaptation challenges. You will bring enthusiasm for interdisciplinary work and a commitment to delivering impactful results.You will also have:
- A PhD in hydrology, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proven experience in numerical modelling or data analysis, and an understanding of climate variability, risk modelling, or climate adaptation frameworks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working in multidisciplinary teams and producing high-quality publications.
