The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice. - Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty
- Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety in the workplace.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver’s license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner’s licenses are not permitted.
