Become a key part of their growing team as a Program Manager, leading the delivery of major projects at Melbourne Airport Business Park. In this role, you will oversee the development of warehouses, office spaces, and civil infrastructure across a vast geographic area.They are seeking candidates with a solid background in construction or contracting, particularly those experienced in stakeholder management and project oversight.They are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, where different perspectives and talents are valued. We encourage professionals of all backgrounds to bring their unique expertise to the teamKey Responsibilities:The role’s duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the project team in developing detailed project briefs in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring all requirements and expectations are clearly defined before initiating the design phase.
- Guide the design team to consistently meet APAM’s standards and requirements, aligning all design elements with organisational goals and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that passenger-facing project designs prioritise enhancing the customer experience, focusing on user satisfaction, efficiency, and functionality.
- Where feasible, introduce innovative practices such as off-site manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall project quality and sustainability.
- Actively manage and engage with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and collaboration.
- Lead the development of accurate and realistic project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve project goals.
- Implement a strategic procurement approach, maximising value through effective risk management and well-negotiated commercial terms tailored to each project’s needs.
- Take a proactive approach to cost control, closely monitoring financial aspects to ensure they remain within agreed benchmarks.
- Prioritise safety in all project activities, fostering a strong safety culture with the aim of achieving zero incidents (Target Zero).
- Drive project teams to meet all project milestones on schedule, ensuring the highest standards of quality are met in both design and construction
About you
- Tertiary qualifications with expertise in engineering, planning, development, and project delivery within the Built Environment or a related field.
- Proven Project Management and Project Delivery experience across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Extensive experience managing capital projects in complex and live environments.
- Skilled in leading multiple sub-programs or projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
- Expertise in guiding multi-disciplinary design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong financial management capabilities and commercial acumen.
- Proficient in construction procurement methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Experienced in anticipating challenges and proactively mitigating potential issues.
- Ability to adapt communication methods to suit the needs of different stakeholders.
- Proven track record of influencing third parties in high-pressure environments.
