Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals are looking to recruit a Medico-Legal Officer (Administration Officer – Level 3) to complement and enhance the Clinical Information Department. You will be contributing to the efficient operation of the Clinical Information Department by providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and processing the release of personal health information for medico-legal purposesWhat You’ll be Doing
This position is required to contribute to the efficient operation of the Clinical Information Department by processing the release of personal health information for medico-legal purposes in particular litigation, police requests, subpoenas, copies of clinical records, requests for medical reports summary of injuries, completion of all deceased paperwork/records and requests for information for ongoing care purposes. To ensure that patient privacy is maintained as per relevant policies and procedures.Where You’ll Be Working

  • Previous clerical experience in a health or legal environment.
  • Completion of medical terminology course or willingness to complete course.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and demonstrate excellent team skills.
  • Effective organisation and communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with difficult customers.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure accuracy in a high volume environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to problem solve, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and adapt to a changing environment.
  • A good understanding of legislation regarding release of information and privacy.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of computerised patient administration systems including electronic medical record systems.
