- provide day-to-day oversight of all operations in the Cancer Centre.
- provide a highly visible presence and be the primary liaison role with other clinical services and manages any issues.
- provide strategic leadership and direction as well as champion and advocate for cancer services.
- support and empower staff to improve cancer outcomes for all Australians aligned to The Australian Cancer Plan 2023 and will inform the priorities for reform in cancer care.
- undertake strategic responsibilities representing the Cancer Services at State-wide and National levels in discussions related to cancer service design, delivery, and innovation as well as future planning.
- ensure the efficient utilisation of resources, effective integration of services within the hospital/service, and achieving the highest standards of service delivery, all in alignment with hospital/service policy directions, service standards, and financial targets.
- collaborate, effectively liaise, and negotiates with clinicians, consumers, and various stakeholders in developing strategies to successfully support provision of safe, timely effective patient centered care and achieve measurable improvement in service delivery.
- monitor performance and compliance with policy, legislation, and best practice standards for area of accountability.
