The role: Kitchen Hand
- Carry out a range of duties associated with maintaining food preparation, service and waste management areas in a clean hygienic state within the Launceston General Hospital (LGH).
Note: – Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The area: LGH food services
- Ability to maintain all food service equipment and surfaces in a clean and hygienic state.
- Ability to understand both written and verbal instructions, and to cooperate with other personnel within the department to work successfully as a team.
- Operate food service machinery and appliances as per guidelines.
Details of AppointmentPermanent, part time, day worker position. not working weekends but working Public Holidays, working 75 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.*notwithstanding, hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $55,466 to $57,712 per annum, pro rata. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Eligibility:The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: * Conviction checks in the following areas:

- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
