The JIRT HC provides direct support to children and young people who have experienced serious and criminal sexual and physical abuse, neglect and their non-offending family members referred to JIRT. The position supports the Senior Health Clinician (HC) in managing Health aspects of JIRT referrals. HC works along-side Family and Community Services and NSW Police.Where You’ll Be Working

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible. View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Psychologist: Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas) with full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Social Work: Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Sexual Assualt Worker: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent. Demonstrated extensive experience in Child Protection work.
- Demonstrated experience working in partnership with Aboriginal services and community members and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding child sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect of children and young people.
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in relation to child protection interventions and crisis intervention, counselling and case management and demonstrated knowledge of child protection issues and impact, including relevant legislation and guidelines in relation to Child Protection, JRU and JIRTs.
- Demonstrate high level verbal and written communication, negotiation and advocacy skills and ability to adapt communication style to suit target audience.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and independently problem-solve set priorities in complex situations.
- Demonstrate experience working with culturally diverse backgrounds and the ability to provide culturally safe environment for peers, children and families.
- Demonstrate capacity to work in partnership with key multidisciplinary, interagency and stakeholders, to contribute to the development of therapeutic responses to meet demand and address client needs.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementing, leading and evaluating of quality improvement activities involving the application of evidenced based practice.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver’s license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner’s licenses are not permitted.
