Are you ready to use your senior HR/People leadership expertise to drive positive change, and support a mission-driven organisation?We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of People to join our People Culture and Inclusion directorate as we modernise our colleague experience.As Head of People, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing effective strategies and plans to support St Mungo’s strategic goals. You will lead and manage the Business Partner and HR Shared Services teams, ensuring they have the direction, support, and development needed to excel and modernise our services.Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategically significant projects, including reviewing operational People processes, retendering the HR system, and advancing our commitment to anti-racism.
- Provide HR and ER advice to senior managers on complex cases and take a leading role in union relations.
- Oversee remuneration procedures, employee benefits, and strategic People Business Partnering.
- Ensure efficient HR services, including onboarding, administration, and payroll.
This role requires a minimum of 2 days per week at our Central Office in Tower Hill, London, for training, collaboration, team building, and relationship-building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.About youIf you are an experienced senior HR professional skilled in managing complex projects and supporting cultural change, this Head of People role offers a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation dedicated to ensuring everyone has a place to call home and can achieve their dreams. - A qualified member of CIPD (Level 7) or have equivalent experience of HR issues at a senior leadership level.
- Good working knowledge of employment law and experience of managing complex employee relations issues at a senior leadership level in a complex unionised environment.
- Experience of working with senior managers to deliver organisational change and implement projects of strategic importance
- Experience of researching, developing and implementing effective policies and practices on a range of People issues, moving an organisation to modern people practises.
- Effective day to day leadership and management of staff and ability to build a high performing team fit for future challenges
- Proven ability to maintain high data integrity and conduct quality statistical analysis to enhance work practices.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills.
