The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) is responsible for supporting work activities of the Nurses, Medical and Allied Health staff with locally determined shift times based on patient and service delivery needs.

  • The CSO may provide support across the facility or to more than one service.
  • The CSO is required to work closely with existing administrative staff.
  • The CSO role compliments existing roles, systems and processes within the organisation.
  • The CSO is expected to provide timely and accurate administrative / transactional services for members of the healthcare team on their designated ward(s)/ unit(s) under the direction of the NM/ NUM/ MUM/ CNC.
  • The CSO works under broad supervision, however is required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit/ service remain the responsibility of the NM/NUM/NUM/CNC.

What you’ll be doing:Killara Rehabilitation is a 15 bed Rehabilitation ward which utilises a multi-disciplinary approach with the aim of assisting patients to regain their pre-morbid level of mobility, self-care and independence. We provide care to patients recovering from stroke, orthopaedic surgery, general deconditioning post-surgery or long illness and those with aging issues and concerns with managing at home. The patients have access to a gymnasium for group sessions and their own personalised exercise regime. Nursing and medical staff join with the allied health staff from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, social work, speech pathology and dieticians in order to ensure holistic care is provided to the patients.Killara Acute is a 33 bed acute Aged Care ward which comprises of 27 acute ward beds and a 6 bed secure unit (Killara Extension) which is used for patients who exhibit behaviours of concern usually associated with BPSD. The ward and unit are supported by a Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant and a Clinical Nurse Educator.Our Hospital and Community:Established in 1958, The Sutherland Hospital campus offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and community services to around 226,000 residents of the Sutherland Shire, colloquially known as ‘The Shire’. Part of the (SESLHD) and located in Caringbah, the hospital campus is close to some of Sydney’s great beaches, restaurants, bars and cafes at Cronulla and is close to the beautiful Royal National Park. At Miranda, just a short walk away from the hospital, there is a Westfield Shopping Centre and cinema complex.The Benefits:
