Location: Kogarah, SydneyApplications close date: 27 October 2024An exciting opportunity for a suitable Clinical Nurse Consultant has arisen to work in a multidisciplinary team as a member of the SESLHD Safeguards Team, a dedicated CAMHS resource designed to provide innovative & best practice care to children & adolescents aged 0-17 years experiencing acute mental health distress.The team will provide rapid, mobile & flexible care, including: assertive outreach, brief care coordination & time-limited therapeutic interventions. The Safeguards Team will operate 7 days/week with limited hours at the weekends and extended hours on some weekdays. The team will respond to young people and their families who are in crisis, both in the community & in hospital-based settings through face to face, phone & telehealth appointments.This role, working with the multidisciplinary team and in partnership with other service providers, will provide evidence-based brief therapeutic and systemic intervention. Selection Criteria:To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible. * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in a mental health specialty, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
- Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
- Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area and competency in the use of contemporary information systems.
- Current unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
