This exciting and challenging role offers a unique opportunity to embed and oversee the implementation of the SECURE STAIRS framework for integrated care within the AWP Health and Wellbeing service for Young People at Vinney Green Secure Children’s Home.As the Consultant Psychologist and Clinical Lead, you will provide strategic and professional leadership, driving the integration of a developmentally informed and trauma-focused wellbeing service based on the Secure Stairs framework.Your efforts will not only enhance the care provided but also facilitate significant culture change, fostering closer collaboration among teams both locally and nationally.By championing the principles of trauma-informed care, you will play a vital role in reshaping the service environment, creating opportunities for improved outcomes for young people in secure settings.Main duties of the jobLead the health and wellbeing team in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care tailored to the needs of young people.Collaborate with local and national stakeholders, including the National Secure Stairs Clinical Implementation Team, Youth Custody Service, Local Authority and NHS England Commissioners, to ensure fidelity to the model of care and effective service delivery.Maintain a national profile and contribute to the Professional Collaborative Network for the children’s secure estate.Maintain strong partnerships with external organisations and community services, including FCAMHS and social services, to ensure a coherent and streamlined pathways for young people transitioning in and out of secure settings.Facilitate culture change and closer collaboration between teams locally and nationally, enhancing service integration and outcomes for young people.Work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) which includes a Team Manager, Occupational Therapist, Psychiatrist, Nursing, Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapists to meet the holistic needs of the young people.Provide supervision and support to team members, fostering a psychologically informed care environment across all staff within the home.About usWe are AWP (Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust): a diverse organisation with over 5,000 dedicated staff providing inpatient and community-based mental health care.We provide services from a range of locations to approximately 1.8 million people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, across the county of Wiltshire and in parts of Dorset.Our outstanding people promote mental health and wellbeing.
