Contract type: PermanentLuton Council is seeking a motivated and capable individual to join our team as a Technical Support Officer. This role is ideal for someone with experience in clerical and administrative duties and is looking to develop their skills further while gaining a recognised qualification through an off-site apprenticeship.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential clerical and administrative support within our team.
  • Handle public and staff enquiries both face-to-face and over the telephone, ensuring excellent customer care.
  • Maintain accurate manual and computer records, ensuring attention to detail.
  • Use your initiative to complete tasks within defined procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of people, handling all interactions politely and tactfully.

About you
Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Clerical/Administrative Experience: Proven ability in a support role.
  • Customer Service Experience: Confident dealing with a range of enquiries, demonstrating awareness of customer care.
  • Numeracy and Literacy Skills: Basic numeracy (able to add, subtract, multiply, divide) and strong written English.
  • IT Proficiency: Demonstrable keyboard skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Organisational Skills: Able to keep accurate records and manage tasks effectively.
  • Initiative: Able to work independently within guidelines.
  • Apprenticeship: Ability to successfully complete an off-site apprenticeship course.
  • Equality Awareness: Understanding of discrimination and a commitment to promoting inclusivity.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs grades A-C (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English.
  • Equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 106 UCAS points.
