OverviewThis is a great opportunity to work within a Midwifery Team and join a maternity team engaged in contemporary models of care. Utilising your midwifery skills and experience, you will provide maternity services across a variety of health service and community settings on Kangaroo Island. Developing from a competent to a proficient practitioner, you will provide proficient, person-centred, clinical midwifery care to patients using the maternity service. You will promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with the Midwifery Unit Manager and Associate Midwifery Unit Manager, assisting with the implementation of practice changes as required. You will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others, and for the guidance and development of less experienced midwifery staff. When you join our dynamic workforce, you will escape the hustle and bustle of city life and be able to take advantage of the endless possibilities for adventure relaxation, recreation and sightseeing. On Kangaroo Island you can experience country life whilst working in innovative roles to improve the community’s health outcomes and wellbeing.You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or who be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Currently classified as a Clinical Midwife or demonstrating significant post-registration experience, you will be proficient in providing maternity care in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
