Our Social Work Department are inviting applications for a Senior Social Worker (Palliative Care) to join their Rockhampton Team for 12 months, 51 hours per fortnight!
The Senior Social Worker (Palliative Care) is responsible for leading clinical Social Work services predominately in the area of Palliative Care, but with scope to additionally provide leadership across other clinical areas.
Providing complex case management you will deliver clinical services including psychosocial assessment, therapy interventions, monitoring and evaluation of high-quality social work services for patients/clients of Queensland Health within the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

- Use a full scope of practice including exercising independent judgement to provide high level social work services, incorporating psychosocial assessment, advocacy and intervention, across the continuum of care.
- Demonstrated high level of professional leadership, including the supervision and development of staff, to support effective and accountable Social Work practice.
- Ability to lead change through the initiation, implementation and evaluation of quality and service improvement activities.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams, with consumers and their families, and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to clinical research, education and training activities within the work unit and broader service to support quality outcomes for consumers.
About you:
- Mandatory qualification/s: Possession of a degree qualification in Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Applicants must not have any ethical matters outstanding that may otherwise preclude eligibility for professional membership with the AASW. Overseas applicants must obtain a letter from the AASW confirming eligibility for professional membership and provide a copy with their position application.
- The successful applicant must maintain their continuing professional development at a level that would at least meet the accreditation standards of the AASW. As Social Work is a self-regulated profession the successful applicant is required to participate in CQHHS credentialling and defining scope of clinical practice processes.
- Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, post graduate qualifications in Palliative Care are highly desirable.
What we offer:Salary information:Total remuneration value of up to $105,596 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 – $69.55
