Role DetailsThe Data Governance Architect is a role within Finance and Business Services and is accountable to the Manager, Data Architect and Decision Support for:
- Establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework that ensures data integrity, security, and compliance with the Department’s corporate strategy.
- Applying advanced database modelling skills with real-time/data warehouse data architecture design principles to support metrics, analytics, integration, and self-service business intelligence.
- Collaborating with business and IT leadership stakeholders to oversee development and maintenance of a data quality program to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data assets.
- Provide data governance thought leadership to cross-functional teams in areas of metadata management including data security policies and procedures, data access, data integration, data visualisation, data discovery, database design and implementation.
- Partner with business stakeholders, management, and teams to identify data related business requirements and guide the delivery of cost-effective, high-performance technology capabilities leveraging enterprise information governance principles.
- Maintain an organisation-wide strategy encompassing data governance, quality, metadata management, and define roles and responsibilities in data governance, ensuring accountability for stewardship and ownership of data assets.
- Ensure that the business intelligence teams are supported to deliver quality services, through architecting and governing highly available and resilient data platforms.
- Contribute to the development of data management policies and procedures and data governance setup and recommend enterprise governance solutions for improving data integrity and governance.
- Establish collaborative, cross-functional relationships, providing advice to drive enterprise data governance decisions forward.
Special ConditionsNational Police Check required.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.Essential Qualifications:
Proven experience in data governance, data management, or related roles. 5 years’ experience with data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data cataloguing
